Human nature is much more stronger than the Earth nature. Simple desire and efforts are not enough to change a human being.

Only the man can change himself and nobody else. For example only on his own will he can turn from a nervous into a calm person. However I should mention one thing: changing the nature is possible when a person is clever enough to analyze his own behavior and his position in society
.
It’s quite easy to change rivers and mountains because of modern technologies – you can blow a mountain, you can dig a new estuary. Human beings use the chemicals and the nature changes the image. The nature changes itself due to external biological laws, which you can be influenced by a human being. Ecology is changing because of the human activities.

One of the evidences is a famous dystopia by Anthony Burgess “A Clockwork orange”, where the lead character Alex is a cruel and immoral teenager, getting into prison. He was given an experimental behaviour-modification treatment. Because of this experiment he stopped to be violent. At the beginning the doctors turned Alex into a “kind” and harmless person, but after a while he returned to his old behaviour– he became violent and started committing cruel murders. This novel illustrates, that even strong psychological impact can’t change a man.

I can not but mention a novel by Ken Kessey “One Float Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, where you can see changes of personality of mentally sick people in asylum influenced by one man. Patrick McMurphy – the lead character, was a rioter, who was able to change the beliefs and motivations of the loonies but this happened when these miserable people realized the need to change. In the end of the novel the patients escaped from the hospital without caring about the consequences. It is an illustration that even mentally sick people can change themselves if they want to.

I know how it’s hard to change my opinion about something until I understand the need of these changes. I really personally believe that it is easier to change rivers and mountains rather than to change a person.
